This project came from my quest to find and develop a new sound.” While keeping the lyricism that fans are used to hearing from Payne, this project reaches a new level of production and vocal ability. It’s refreshing to anybody who is searching for substance in music, and also enjoys a mix of new age rap/ r&b. “This album was created out of pain and struggle while attempting to find a voice and an identity. The “Eastside” comes from my time spent living on the Eastside of Chicago and the fact that a majority of my life has been spent on the east coast. So the title is a play on this idea of pain and my last name, hence “Eastside Payne”.​
